Students who find a lost item on campus should turn the item in to the nearest University office as soon as possible. Rutgers employees should turn in lost items to his or her supervisor who will transfer the item to the Rutgers University Police Department located at 55 Commercial Avenue.

An attempt to locate the owner and return the item will be made by the RUPD. If the item is not claimed within 30 days, it will be transferred to Surplus Property to be disposed of.

Any item that is presumed stolen on the New Brunswick campus should be immediately reported to the University Police at 732-932-7211.

State keys are to be returned promptly to the Security Technologies Unit at 91 Street 1603, Piscataway, NJ 08854.

RU Connection cards can be sent directly to the RU Connection Office.

The RUPD serves as the central collection point for lost and found property. If you believe you've lost an item on campus, please contact us between 9:00am and 3:00pm Monday through Friday.
