The following is a brief synopsis of information reported to the Rutgers University Police Department:

The New Brunswick Police Department is currently investigating a reported robbery that occured near the College Avenue campus. The incident occured on August 9, 2007 at 1:50 a.m. in the area of Stone Street & Prosper Street. The victim reported that the suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded money. The victim was not injured.

The Rutgers University Police Department reminds you that you can reduce your chances of being a crime victim by taking reasonable precautions. Be alert to the people and circumstances around you, choose well lit paths and avoid isolated areas.

DESCRIPTION OF SUSPECT:

Black Male
Early 20's
Between 6"1' and 6"3' in height
Wearing a black t-shirt, dark jeans and white sneakers
